| CME markets are closed today September 12, 2001 and there will be no after-hours electronic trading this evening. All of CME's markets except U.S. equity contracts will open Thursday morning September 13th at their usual times for open outcry. The start of GLOBEX2 electronic trading will coincide with the open outcry start times. Available contracts will include CME's interest rate, foreign exchange and commodity products, as well as Nikkei 225 stock index futures and options, in order to accommodate the last trading day of the Nikkei expiring contract. The opening of U.S. equity contracts will be coordinated with the U.S.securities exchanges. No decision has been made yet on that timing. A moment of silence will be observed on CME's trading floors at 11:00 a.m. Central time to recognize the victims and survivor's of yesterday's tragic events. CME suggests that members and staff arrive early Thursday to allow for additional security measures, and anyone entering CME must use the Monroe Street entrance. The Visitors Galleries will be closed this week, and parking in the building garage will be available only to those who have parking decals, not to any guests. The garage will open at 4 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. |
